ABOUT THE GRANT
The Vibrant Cities Arts Grant 2023 will help offset the ongoing financial recovery from the impact of COVID-19 on the local art community with $200,000 in grants available. The program will direct funds to individual artists or artist groups to either recoup lost funds from canceled programs or to support ongoing artistic endeavors.
Apply Here
Applications will be accepted beginning January 25, 2023 at 9am PST and closed on March 3, 2023 at 6pm PST. Each grantee will be awarded $5,000. The grants are not designated for specific projects. Rather, they are intended to provide recipients with the financial means to engage in whatever artistic endeavors they wish to pursue, to research and develop ideas, embark on projects and complete projects already under way. Artists are to submit a letter of purpose that states why the Grant is a financial need, how it would impact their work and practice, and how it would potentially impact the community or public.
Supporting Artists
The grants are focused on supporting artists that are traditionally underrepresented including artists of color, female artists and LGBTQ+ artists. Artists who present work seeking to enrich and inform the public on important subjects such as social justice, civil rights, the physical environment and other contemporary issues will also be given preference.
